My Approach & Values

​My name is Elestren, El for short. I became a Certified Embodiment Coach in 2022 after a long journey of healing health crisis, anger, grief & chronic stress, culminating in my decision to formalise my self taught learnings and train as an embodiment coach to help others.

  • My approach is embodied and creative. We are not just minds, but bodies too

  • Lasting change doesn't happen with mindset alone

  • Change and how we choose to live cannot happen without self awareness. Self awareness leads to choice. Choice leads to stepping into your power 

  • Expression and Regulation are two sides of the same coin - we need both to live with Calm Aliveness

  • You are in charge & you are not broken 

  • I don't have the answers - you do. I help you discover them & empower you to do something with them

  • I believe being embodied - connected to ourselves & in community is a human right which many have lost in our modern, frantic, busy paced world. Our ability to hear ourselves and speak our truths have been worn down. 

  • I work with all of you. I will be your biggest cheerleader, handholder and kind challenger

  • We all have emotions, thoughts, feelings, passions, inner voice, creativity. Yet society has often taught as to keep ourselves small and to fit in with the status quo. Don't rock the boat. Don't be rude. Don't be selfish. Don't share the real you. Because the real you could be not good enough, too much, put down, told to shut up, humiliated. And so on and so on. So we learn to keep ourselves safe, keep the majority of ourselves inside, keep our authenitc voice to ourselves.

  •  By bypassing our bodies and ignoring our instincts we allow the world to happen to us. We aren't really safe doing this. We are harming ourselves. We become disempowered. We leave ourslves open to abuse

  • This - is the way back to you and the life you deserve. This is what I am here for. To help people connect to & understand themselves, their inner voice, their triggers with anger, stress , anxiety; find their joy, your voice, creativity, express their wants and needs. Feel it in their bodies, acknowledge it, understand it, release it, regulate & express themselves. Stand up and be counted as the wonderful, unique individual you are!

  • I envisage a world of human beings able to feel themselves, their emotions, express boundaries  safely,  healthily and authentically. Live a life free and full of capacity for a range of emotions from Anger through to Joy.

My background

I have had a portfolio career to date - but the common thread has been people, wellbeing and change. From my MA, teaching, facilitating art, writing, interventions in learning and behaviour, mentoring and training, HR and Directorship, what makes people tick, how they feel, what they believe and what they need & communication have been the threads that weave it altogether.

I have experience in expressive arts, communicating needs, Emotions coaching, conflict resolution, Embodied Yoga principles, Embodiment Coaching, arts for wellbeing, arts for dementia, emotional regulation, sensorimotor art facilitation, opera workshops, schools and HR. I am Mental Health first aid trained and Trauma Informed coach and facilitator.

Things I'd like you to know about me personally:

​

  • I am a 1 of 4 siblings - I was the loudest one - haha analyse that one!

  • I'm a mum to 2 daughters - 1 who will occassinally let me give her cuddles & is feisty, independent, kind, passionate & sensitive. My daughter & husband have adhd and I have learnt oh so much from them & our growing relationships.

  • My 2nd daughter died shortly after birth & I have learnt oh so much from her too despite her current lack of being in my arms. Not that you have to learn from trauma. I just mean this continuing experience has led me to where I am now. 

  • I have a big heart & a fesity soul. 

  • I love music, sing opera

  • Moving, dancing, writing, art & nature feed my mind, body & soul/heart.

  • I live by the sea and near the moors - places matter - this is where I feel free!

  • ​

  • I am passionate, caring & empathic but I will challenge you if it's in your interest.

  • I believe life is too short for living in fear of....

  • I believe life is too short to not fully live

  • I believe life is too short to be dancing to other people's tunes - rag dolling yourself through life.

  • All the things I help clients with are very true struggles I have had myself. Listening to myself is a recurring theme in my relationship to myself & one I am conscious of to keep leading from.

  • It is my power & weakness. We can be our own liberators or jailers, saviours or abusers.

  • Find your voice. Acknowledge it. Use it.

  • Whether you work with me or not. Everyone deserves this.

  • hmmm and rather randomly, I'm a colour loving emo/rock chick, I get the lyrics to songs wrong when singing along and if I'm not teaching kids or being 'professional' I love a good swear!
